SAMRS® Multiplexed BRCA Assay

Firebird's BRCA Assay contains three targeted multiplex primer pools designed to provide overlapping coverage of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes

The assay enables detection of genetic variants within targeted regions of BRCA1 (chromosome 17) and BRCA2 (chromosome 13).

The assay utilizes Firebird's proprietary tagged-PCR chemistry, enabling ultra-highly multiplexed amplification while maintaining specificity and sensitivity for downstream sequencing analysis.

What's in the kit:

334 primers, delivered in pools, that contain SAMRS in their 3’-region targeting genes associated with BRCA.

Primers are divided into 3 multiplex pools that are run independently of each other in the tagging PCR. Primers for indexing PCR are user-designed where the 3’-region is the universal tag sequence and the 5’-region is the barcode sequence specified by the user.

Assay results using SAMRS vs. Unmodified primers:

The open-system design allows users flexibility in the selection of barcode and adapter sequences and supports integration with user-selected sequencing workflows.

The accompanying User Guide covers library preparation from genomic DNA using the Firebird BRCA Assay. Following amplification, users may prepare libraries for sequencing using their preferred sequencing platform and associated library preparation workflow.

Note: Users are responsible for obtaining all reagents and consumables required for barcode incorporation, library preparation, sequencing, and downstream bioinformatic analysis that are not included with the assay kit. Find explicit instructions and recommendations on using product in the user guide provided. Please inquire for recommended materials.
